Ingredients

  • 1.4 oz Irish Whiskey
  • 1.7 oz black coffee, freshly brewed
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 oz cream

Instructions

Layer the Coffee, Whiskey, and Sugar

  • Pour freshly brewed hot coffee into an Irish coffee glass or a latte glass, leaving about an inch of space at the top. Add one teaspoon of sugar and stir until it dissolves. Next, add one shot (about 1.5 ounces) of Irish whiskey on top of the coffee and sugar mixture

Whip the Cream

  • Take about 2 ounces of whipping cream and lightly whip it until it has a slightly thick consistency, but be sure not to over-whip it. The whipped cream should be light enough to float on top of the coffee without sinking.

Layer the Whipped Cream on Top

  • Using the back of a teaspoon, gently pour the whipped cream over the top of the coffee and whiskey mixture. The whipped cream will create a layer on top of the coffee.

Garnish and Serve

  • To finish the drink, garnish with a sprinkle of chocolate or a few coffee beans on top of the whipped cream. Serve the Irish coffee while it's still warm and enjoy!
